Our Services
Since 1984, the Orion Partnership has been consulting with corporations, healthcare organizations, local government, and community based not-for-profits. Our work has evolved over time, frequently in the context of long term relationships with clients. Twenty-five+ years later, our services typically fit into three areas.
Organization Development
Building organizational capacity through design and facilitation of change efforts, team development, and leadership development. Our most compelling work has been with clients who have asked us to help shift the organization’s culture to one that is characterized by collaboration and the ability to quickly adapt to a constantly changing environment. Along with our process design and facilitation skills, we bring special expertise related to past and current publications: the dynamics of fear and trust in organizations, how to effectively speak up at work, and how to create groups that produce outstanding results and, at the same time, a transformative experience for group members. Executive Onboarding
Supporting new executives to, as quickly as possible, understand and adapt to a new role or culture, build effective working relationships, establish leadership credibility. These services are offered through StartSmart² LLC in collaboration with Marlyse Cato. This work builds on the fundamentals of both organization development and executive coaching: serving as a sounding board and guide for new executives and team building with the groups that are critical for the new executive’s success. It is inspired by the powerful challenge faced by both organizations and executives who are ready for their next move: how to make the next hire or the next position really work? More about our executive onboarding services.
Executive Coaching
Serving as a confidential, behind-the-scenes sounding board for clients who are committed to increasing their leadership effectiveness. This unique type of consulting offers clients a safe and objective external view of the challenges they face. Engagements typically fall into two categories. Short-term work is focused on building specific skills or resolving certain issues; it usually lasts about six months. Long term work, lasting a year or more, addresses a wide range of issues related to clients leadership, for example one’s purpose as a leader, refining already developed skills, or tracking patterns of development over time. Our Bias: Building Off of Existing Client Strengths
Throughout our consultations, we have a strong bias toward emphasizing what works right and building off of existing client strengths. We frequently engage our clients in an approach to change that is both a philosophy and a change methodology. This approach, known as Appreciative Inquiry, seeks to surface the best in people, their organizations, and the relevant world around them and use those discoveries as a foundation upon which to build the organization’s future. More about Appreciative Inquiry.
